Riverside, CA (August 12, 2022) – In response to a complaint filed by Riverside County
residents against AD-63 Republican nominee Bill Essayli’s voter registration,
Democratic nominee Fauzia Rizvi released the following statement:

“I’m running for Assembly because I care about my neighbors and our communities, and
I believe in solving problems for people. We deserve a representative in Sacramento
who understands the needs of our communities and puts people first, not themselves.
Now we know that Bill Essayli is an Orange County resident who cannot reasonably
represent us. It is shocking and disappointing that someone running in this district would
not even vote for themselves in the June primary to represent our communities. We
deserve better.”

Rizvi is running in the newly-drawn California’s 63rd Assembly District, which includes
Norco, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, and Canyon Lake, along with parts of Eastvale,
Riverside, and Corona. She is a longtime resident of Corona, having raised three
children in the city. Rizvi is endorsed by bipartisan local, state, and federal leaders,
labor groups, small business owners, and residents across Riverside County.
